2022-11-17 Progress on Player Stations


Station building is coming along well. The station modules for Solar Generators, Warehouses, Factories and Refineries are fully working. You can now build a station, fill it with resources, refine those resources, and start building things in your factories. The UI for all the station and module stuff is functional enough for testing, but it still needs some work.

Many other station modules are being worked on and are in various stages of completion. There are currently 19 station modules planned in total, but that number might go up if I think of some more useful modules. Some of the modules will be simpler for me to implement, like the hangar module, while more interactive things like the factory modules have a lot of code behind them. 

While most of my work has been on step 3 (Base building), I have also got a good start on steps 4 and 5 (Mining and refining & UI graphic overhaul) as I needed specific UI elements and reference to refining, in order to work on base building. 

Sorry I'm not really going into the code here or providing detailed change logs, I'm still adding so much stuff, and a lot of it is pretty basic stuff anyway. It would take double the time if logged all the things at this point. Later I will try to get some change logs going.

I am not posting a build with player stations yet. Its incomplete and needs a bit of testing to clear out the bigger bugs. The debug server will have these new features as it runs the most recent build, but it is usually broken as it runs the most recent "it compiles" build. Hit me up on Discord if you want to get in on the debug server.
